MSM30 index closed up by 0.02% at 4,026.93 points. The Sharia index closed up by 0.09% at 539.96 points. Dhofar Cattle Feed, up 5.77%, was the top gainer. Sohar Power, down 9.90%, was the top loser. Al Anwar Ceramic was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Meetaq Sukuk Series 1 was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 563 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR 2.09 million with more than 12.4 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 11 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR 605,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR 585,000 followed by local investors for OMR 20,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,581.43 points, up 0.07% Gulf Investment Service, Oman Qatar Insurance, Oman United Insurance, Sohar International Bank and HSBC Oman were up by 5.41%, 3.13%, 1.63%, 0.88% and 0.77% respectively. Al Sharqia Investment, Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Anwar Holding Takaful Oman Insurance and Bank Muscat were down by2.15%, 1.43%, 1.12%, 0.83% and 0.45% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,446.44 points, up 0.14%. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Al Anwar Ceramic and Galfar Engineering were up by 5.77%, 1.92% and 1.27% respectively. Oman Fisheries was down by 0.83%.
Services index closed down 0.07% at 1,943.10 points. Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power and Ooredoo were up by 1.47%, 1.43% and 0.38% respectively. Sohar Power, Renaissance Service, OIFC, Al Jazeera Service and Omantel were down by 9.9%, 2.55%, 2.42%, 0.8% and 0.35% respectively.
