Industries must share survey data with ministry by November 7

Muscat: Industrial organisations in Oman must submit the data required by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) to publish its industrial survey no later than 7 November 2019.
The data is required for an industrial survey being conducted by MoCI, and companies have to upload their details either on the Invest Easy portal, www.business.gov.om/statsurvey, or the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s own site, www.moci.gov.om. This includes all industries and companies that operate in the country, as well as those that are present at industrial estates, ports and free zones.
A statement from the ministry in this context said, “All transactions of any industrial establishment that haven’t submitted data required up to 7 November will be on hold. All industrial establishments have to provide cooperation in submitting the industrial survey data to not violate the Unified Industrial Regulations Law and its accompanying Executive Regulations issued by Royal Decree No 61/2008.”
Conducted in cooperation with the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the industrial survey aims at digitising all survey stages to provide integrated access to all industrial data and information to have accurate monitoring and evaluation of the Industrial Strategy 2040.
“The digital system contributes to simplifying preparation works and linking all industrial statistics to the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs),” added the ministry. “The e-system is a reference point for evaluating the performance of the industrial establishments in Oman. All participating establishments will benefit from submitting their industrial statistics reports to be able to specify investments expected at the different industrial fields and recognise the aspects that need development.
The design of the e-system of the industrial statistics is in line with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation`s statistical framework to have all Oman`s industrial statistics matching the other countries’ statistics.
