Indirect effect of cyclone Kyarr on Oman's weather for next few days

Muscat: Residents of Oman will start feeling the indirect effects of tropical cyclone Kyarr from Tuesday night, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) announced.

PACA said in it's third report on Kyarr, "The indirect effects are likely to start with the flow of clouds accompanied by occasional rain and thunderstorms and active winds starting Tuesday evening at the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta."

"The analysis of the National Center for Early Warning Hazard report shows that the tropical cyclone is located in the middle of the Arabian Sea, about 760 km away from the nearest point of the Sultanate's coast (Ras Madrakah)."

The report added, "The latest forecasts indicate that the tropical cyclone will continue to move towards the coast of the Sultanate over the next 48 hours with the gradual decline of its classification and the possibility of a later movement towards the south-west along the coasts of the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar.It will be concentrated 200 km from Ras Madrakah and the possibility of the centre of the cyclone crossing the coasts of the Sultanate is excluded."
