Muscat: MSM30 index closed flat at 4,004.35, down 0.02%. The Sharia Index closed down by 0.03% at 539.16 points. Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, up 7.94%, was the top gainer. Al Kamil Power, down 7.60%, was the top loser. Oman United Insurance was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as turnover.
A total number of 306 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR 1.0 million with more than 5.96 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 9 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR 340,000 while domestic investors were net sellers for OMR 304,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR 36,00 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,498.54 points, up 0.10%. Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, Global Financial Investment Holding, Gulf Investment Services Holding, Sohar International Bank, and Oman United Insurance were up by 7.94%, 2.74%, 1.43%, 0.9%, and 0.36% respectively. There were no losing stocks from the sector.
Industrial Index closed at 4,313.45 points, up 0.33%. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering, and Oman Cement were up by 6.49%, 1.3%, and 0.48% respectively. Dhofar Cattle Feed was the only loser and closed down 3.93%.
Services index closed down 0.46% at 1,914.32 points. Majan College closed up by 3.61%. Al Kamil Power, Phoenix Power, Muscat City Desalination, OIFC, and Oman Oil Marketing were down by 7.6%, 2.53%, 0.96%, 0.86%, and 0.81% respectively.
