Sayyid Fahd receives GCC awqaf and religious affairs ministers

Muscat: Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Tuesday received GCC ministers of awqaf, Islamic and religious affairs taking part in the 5th meeting hosted by the Sultanate.
After welcoming the guests, Sayyid Fahd expressed the Sultanate’s appreciation under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said over the good efforts exerted in fields of awqaf and religious affairs to push the GCC joint action. Sayyid Fahd stressed the importance of highlighting the real image of Islam at the global level and Islam’s respect to the others.
Conversation during the meeting touched on the issues concerning the Islamic world to face campaigns of hatred and extremism, as well as cementing principles of justice and equality among all people.
The guests stressed the importance of this meeting, as well as the ideas they listened, which enhance all efforts exerted in this path.
They also commended the wise policy of His Majesty the Sultan, as well as His Majesty’s role in all that aims towards further rapprochement among religions. The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Salmi, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.
