Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers yesterday received GCC Ministers of Housing who are taking part in the 17th meeting hosted by the Sultanate.
Welcoming the guests, Sayyid Fahd expressed the Sultanate’s appreciation under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said of the efforts being exerted in housing and urban planning fields.
These efforts target development and taking into account the latest methods of construction with preservation of housing heritage, Sayyid Fahd added.
Sayyid Fahd also stressed the importance of the GCC Statistical Centre in aspects pertaining to housing databases in coordination with the statistical centres in each country.
Enhancing partnership
Discussions during the meeting touched on major issues, the foremost of which represented in the joint housing action strategy, unifying legislations and enhancing partnership with the private sector.
On their turn, the ministers thanked the Sultanate for hosting this meeting and the good preparation that contributed to reaching several prospective outcomes.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al- Shabibi, Oman’s Minister of Housing.
