Majlis Al Shura to hold its opening session

Muscat: As per of the Royal Order of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to convene deliberations of the 7th term of the Council of Oman (Majlis Oman), Majlis Al Shura will commence the first annual sitting for the ninth term (2019 - 2023) by holding its first session on Thursday.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary General of Majlis Al Shura began his speech by extending congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on the occasion of the 49th Glorious National Day, praying to Allah the Almighty for the return of this occasion on His Majesty for many years to come while His Majesty the Sultan enjoys a good health and wellbeing.
Legislative councils
He affirmed that His Majesty accords all care and attention to Majlis Al Shura to promote the Shura process in the Sultanate in a bid to become among the advanced legislative councils and to contribute in performing its role efficiently.
Sheikh Al Nadabi added that the Majlis Al Shura Office will hold its regular meeting for the first annual sitting (2019-2020) of the 9th term (2019-2023) to discuss and approve the lists of the candidates of the committees’ heads and deputies of the standing committees, namely the Legislative and Legal Committee, Economic and Financial Committee, Health and Environmental Committee, and Education and Scientific Research Committee, in addition to Services and Social Development Committee, Youth and Human Resources Committee, Food and Water Security Committee, Media and Culture Committee.
