Oman's Fatma fails to clear first hurdles in China

Muscat: Sultanate’s tennis ace Fatma Al Nabhani had a disappointing outing in the $100,000 Anning ITF Pro Circuit Tournament in China on Wednesday suffering defeats in both singles and doubles competitions.
The Omani, who had to play both singles and doubles first round matches on the same day, was beaten in the singles by Australian Jessica Moore.
Though Fatma fought well she couldn’t stop Jessica Moore from winning with a 6-3, 6-3 scoreline.
In the doubles, Fatma and her Japanese partner Junri Namigata came up against a strong second seeded pair of Zhaoxuan Yang of China and Varatchaya Wongteancai of Thailand.
Fatma and Junri ultimately lost the match in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
