Oman's share index closes marginally higher

The MSM30 index closed at 4,092.72 points, up 0.33 per cent. The Sharia Index closed up 0.10 per cent at 557.13 points. Gulf International, 4.81 per cent, was the top gainer while ACWA Power, down 10.24 per cent was the top loser. Al Kamil Power was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Government Bonds Issue 54th was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 467 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR3.19 million with more than 9.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 43 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 7 declined and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, Local investors were net buyers for OMR222,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR203,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR20,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,533.75 points, up 0.25 per cent. Al Madina Investment, Al Omaniya Financial, Ahli Bank and Al Anwar Holding were up 4.35 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 1.43 per cent and 1.20 per cent respectively. Muscat Insurance, National Finance and Oman United Insurance were down by 6.67 per cent, 2.16 per cent and 0.59 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,431.28 points, up 0.40 per cent. Gulf International, Raysut Cement and Oman Cement were up by 4.81 per cent, 3.88 per cent and 0.84 per cent respectively. Al Maha Ceramics, National Aluminum and Oman Chlorine were down by 2.05 per cent, 0.59 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.
Services index also closed up by 0.35 per cent at 1,943.06 points. Al Kamil Power, Oman National Engineer, Renaissance Service and Al Jazeera Service were up by 3.33 per cent, 3.17 per cent, 3.16 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively. ACWA Power was down by 10.24 per cent.
