The MSM30 index closed at 4,126.05 points, down 0.07 per cent. The Sharia Index closed down 0.06 per cent at 563.14 points. HSBC Bank, 1.67 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Maha Petroleum, down 2.78 per cent was the top loser. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 440 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR2.1 million with more than 9.4 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 6 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign were net sellers for OMR1.12m while Local investors were net buyers for OMR1.12m followed by GCC investors for OMR34,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,543.87 points, up 0.02 per cent. HSBC Bank, Muscat Finance, Gulf Investment, National Bank of Oman and Oman United Insurance were up 1.67 per cent, 1.64 per cent, and 1.43 per cent, 0.99 per cent and 0.58 per cent respectively. Ahli Bank and Bank Muscat were down by 1.37 per cent and 1.33 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,509.07 points, down 0.31 per cent. Dhofar Cattle Feed and Al Maha Ceramics were up by 0.79 per cent and 0.52 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic and Raysut Cement were down by 1.79 per cent and 1.54 per cent respectively.
Services index also closed down by 0.01 per cent at 1,961.58 points. Ooredoo and Renaissance Service were up by 1.16 per cent and 1.15 per cent respectively. Al Maha Petroleum and United Power were down by 2.78 per cent and 0.42 per cent.
