Oman's social development ministry issues statement on Twitter requests

Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development has issued an explanation about the requests of some users of Twitter.

A statement issued online by the Ministry said: "The Ministry of Social Development is following up through its account on “Twitter” interaction by users, and what their tweets contain in terms of social security requests,  pension requests for some and other requests related to housing."

"Accordingly, the Ministry will follow up and study all these tweets and request details about them from the social development departments in the various governorates of the Sultanate."

"With regard to “housing requests”, the Ministry’s role in this aspect is to conduct social research for each request. The requests related to those entitled to social security always have the status of “priority and continuous follow-up” with the relevant authority in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning," the statement added.
