Accountant commits fraud, embezzeles over OMR 113,000

Muscat: An accountant committed fraud and embezzled over OMR 113,000, the Oman and Emirates Holding said.

A statement issued online by Muscat Securities Market said, ”The Oman and Emirates Holding informs you that upon reviewing the company's account statements with the bank, it became clear that the accountant had committed fraud and forgery and embezzled a total of OMR 113,392,400.”

“The company is recovering the embezzled amount in coordination with the Royal Oman Police,” the statement added.
