His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad takes oath as Kuwait's 16th Emir

Muscat: His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad took oath as Kuwait's 16th Emir, Kuwait News Agency KUNA announced.

Former Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al-Sabah, 91, passed away on Tuesday in a treatment trip in the United States.

Sheikh Sabah has been credited with shaping the Gulf nation's foreign policy and spent decades as foreign minister before becoming emir in 2006.
