Alawi inaugurates training centre for Council of Oman

Muscat: Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, patronised over the opening ceremony of the training center for Council of Oman at its premises yesterday.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri,Chairman of State Council , Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of the Shura Council, a number of ministers, members of the State Council and Shura Council and Secretary Generals of Ministries.
The training centre aims to provide lectures and training programmes in various administrative, legislative, legal, economic and protocol, public relations, media, social and educational fields to the members and staff of the Council of Oman.
This initiative is in response to the direction of the State Council and the Shura Council in establishing the foundations for responsible parliamentary practices, which are critical for various national issues, and help members of both Houses connect institutions to perform their legislative and oversight functions efficiently.
Workshops
The Centre will establish seminars and workshops, aim at enhancing knowledge and scientific capabilities, expertise in the two Councils, and enable the personnel to perform their role efficiently in providing technical support to the members of both Councils.
This will enable raising of awareness regarding the functions of parliamentary institutions and consolidate the parliamentary culture designed in accordance with the values and principles and the correct concepts. -ONA
