Ahmedabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch LK Advani will address party workers and the people at a function on May 26 as part of 'Vikas Parv' celebrations by Gujarat BJP to mark two years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre.
An array of gatherings and rallies are being organised by state BJP to celebrate the completion of two years of BJP government at the Centre as well as Anandiben Patel-led state government as 'Vikas Parv' between May 22 and May 26 across the state.
"BJP will hold 14 'Vikas Parv' gatherings at various places in the presence of state ministers and other party leaders. On May 26, LK Advani would address one such gathering in the city to be organised on the Sabarmati Riverfront," state BJP co-ordinator Kaushik Patel said.
He said Union HRD minister and Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat Smriti Irani will address similar gatherings at Anand and Vadodara on May 23 and May 24, respectively.
"Apart from this, we have also invited six Union cabinet ministers, including Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh to take part in the celebrations. We are yet to get final confirmation from them," said Kaushik.
The Modi-led government at the Centre will complete two years on May 26, while Anandiben Patel will complete two years in office as Gujarat chief minister on May 22.
According to Kaushik, the main aim of the celebration is to inform people about the various pro-people work done by Modi and Patel in these two years.
"During the five-day celebrations, BJP will also organise 'Vikas Gaurav Yatra' (march) in all districts and cities, which will be led by BJP MPs of the state. Party leaders will distribute pamphlets, depicting achievements of both these governments during this marches," he added.
