Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on Monday received a cable of greetings on the occasion of the 50th National Day of Renaissance from His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, reading as follows:
“Your Majesty, Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.
These days the dear nation celebrates the 50th National Day of the Renaissance, which Oman recalls with solemn dignity and grandeur as the country ponders on the brilliant achievements of the past 50 years. It celebrates the anniversary with pride and aspiration for a brighter future, God willing.
Your Majesty,
On this glorious occasion, it is an honor for me and Your Majesty’s Armed Forces, the triumphant Firaq Forces and all personnel of the Ministry of Defence, to express the most sincere greetings to Your Majesty, along with heartfelt wishes that the Almighty Allah will protect you and endow dear Oman with further progress and prosperity in Your Majesty’s blessed reign.

The 18th of November is an auspicious national occasion that is eternally engrained in Omani memory. Celebration of the 50th National Day of the Renaissance is an embodiment of a great civilizational project and it constitutes a rejuvenation of the comprehensive renaissance and the foundation of a new stage of growth that will, God willing, stands testimony to Your Majesty’s wisdom.
The celebration also reflects the ability of Omani citizens to keep abreast of the modern age and mould a promising future of affluence. Over a period of a half century, this benign land saw steady growth in all walks of life. Your Majesty’s Armed Forces have formed a shining side of the 50-year spectrum of bountiful growth.
Deeply honoured by Your Majesty’s Royal patronage, the Armed Forces reiterate the pledge to continue the forward parade of comprehensive action, so that Oman could achieve the desired standards of prosperity and security of its citizens. They remain faithful to their mandate of protecting pillars of security, national stability and peace on this dear homeland.

While celebrating this memorable day, the Armed Forces, Firaq Forces and all personnel of the Ministry of Defence hereby reiterate allegiance, love and gratitude to Your Majesty. They vow to protect the gains of the nation and help sustain the progress of renewed Omani Renaissance under Your Majesty’s prudent leadership.
