Over 7,000 people in Oman to receive vaccination in first batch

Muscat: The vaccination process for the Covid-19 begins in Oman with a total of 7,500 people to receive vaccines in the first batch including citizens and residents.

15,600 doses of COVID-19 vaccine arrived on Thursday and 28,000 doses are expected to arrive in January, according to the Ministry of Health.

HE Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, the minister of Health said: "The vaccine must be taken in two doses, 21 days apart, so 7,500 people will receive the vaccine from the target groups, which include citizens and residents."

The target groups include elderly people over 65 years old and suffering from diabetes, those who suffer from chronic lung diseases and those who suffer from kidney failure, in addition to health workers in intensive care units and workers in departments of care for patients with Covid 19, and those suffering from chronic diseases.
