Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested six expats on the charges of committing electronic fraud through text messages.
A statement issued online by ROP said, "Six expatriates were arrested on charges of electronic fraud after sending text messages on the phones of a number of people, including deluding them about the failure of their bank cards and requesting a call to update their data to activate the card so that they could take bank data, enter their personal accounts and withdraw the sums of money in it."
