Omani women important part of Oman Vision 2040: Government

Muscat: Omani women will play an important part in the national strategy plan for Oman Vision 2040 and their development is a topic that has the attention of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Oman News Agency (ONA) said.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency, (ONA), said: “The Sultanate affirms that Omani women have received the attention of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik as part of the national strategy plan for Oman vision 2040, which will give them more active participation in all fields. The state’s basic system is based on non-discrimination between men and women, and guarantees women all rights.”

The statement confirmed that the government of the Sultanate has taken efforts to empower Omani women, who have been able to prove themselves in scientific and practical capabilities and competencies.

This affirmation by the Government came in a speech delivered by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al Hassan, the Sultanate’s permanent representative to the United Nations in New York, before the 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations.
