Seven arrested for trying to smuggle khat in Oman

Muscat: Seven smugglers have been arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP) for attempting to smuggle a large quantity of khat drug into the Sultanate of Oman.

"The Coast Guard Police in the Governorate of Dhofar arrested seven infiltrators of Arab nationality on board two smuggling boats in two different sites in the Arabian Sea and seized a large quantity of khat in their possession. The legal procedures are being completed against them, " ROP said in a statement.
