Paris: Oman's women's sprinter Mazoon al Alawi will compete in the 100m women's preliminary heat two on Friday at Stade de France. Al Alawi, who is making her third Olympics appearance, will eye to achieve an honorable result in this significant Olympic event. She will compete alongside athletes from various countries including UAE's Mariam Karim, Georgia's Lika Karchivala, American Samoa's Filomenalnesa Ekaobo, Chinese Taipei's Bo Ya Zhang, Guam's Wasten Regier, Grenada's Halie Hazard, Vietnam's Tai Nhi Yen and Pakistan's Faiqa Riaz.
The heats will start at 12:35 PM (Oman time) and the best times athletes will advance to the first round of the main competition. Mazoon's best time is 11.47 seconds. In Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she finished sixth in the preliminary heats three with a timing of 12.35 seconds while in Rio 2016, she recorded a timing of 12.43 seconds.
New Record
Mazoon affirmed that she will work hard to resgiter a new record in her third Olympic participation. “I will aim to showcase my high technical abilities and strive to advance to the first round of the heats. I can understand the difficulty of the competition but I will give my best to advance,” she added

Ali started in daily warm up
Oman's inspiring youngster Ali al Balushi is working hard on his technical preparations for his crucial participation on Saturday. He will compete in the first round of the Men's 100m event at Stade de France. The competitions will begin at 1:55 PM Oman time. Al Balushi is underway in his daily warm up sessions at the main track to adapt to the environment and prepare for the Olympic Challenge. Coach Fahad al Mashaykhi scheduled the training sessions at the same time as the competition to help Ali adjust and perform strongly.
Medical Services for Athletes
Aamir al Zeidi, physiotherapist and member of Oman's delegation at the Paris 2024 Olympics, provides various medical and initial treatment services for athletes and delegation members.
"I provide a range of medical services to the sports delegation members including initial health care for athletes, team members and administrators. I focus on the athletes' physical readiness before competitions and coordinate with the relevant person in the Olympic village in case of any sports Injuries requiring hospital visits." He added
“I am in close follow up with the national team's medical and technical staff to address any previous sports injuries. This step is to ensure that athletes follow their treatment programs and maintain their best physical and technical conditions. The cooperation of the national teams attending in Olympics which significantly contributes to the athletes' ideal technical and physical readiness. Swimming and Shooting Teams back to Oman
The swimming and shooting teams completed their campaign in Paris 2024 Olympics and they are back to the Sultanate of Oman. Swimmer Issa al Adawi finished his second Olympic attendance in sixth place in the preliminary heats two in the 100m freestyle event clocking a time of 53.19 seconds. Al Adawi ranked 70th out of 79 swimmers in the overall preliminary heats.
International shooter Said al Khatri concluded his Olympic debut at Paris 2024 finishing 30th in the preliminary qualifiers for the Men's Trap Shooting event with a total score of 114 points. Khatri competed in the preliminary qualifiers at the main range of the Châteauroux Shooting Center on Monday and Tuesday. He scored 70 points on the first day, with 23 points in the first round and a perfect 25 in the second alongside 22 in the third. On the following day, he scored 21 points in the fourth round and 23 points in the fifth and final round.
