Muscat: More than 69,000 plots of land and housing units were distributed during the period from 2021 to 2024, His Excellency Dr.Khalfan Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning said.
The Shura Council hosted His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, in the second regular session of the 10th term, and he delivers his ministry’s statement, which includes five axes: the National Urban Development Strategy, the legislation and laws regulating the urban planning and housing sector, cooperation and integration with relevant authorities, digital transformation and simplification of procedures, and the challenges and future opportunities for sustainable cities and integrated residential neighborhoods.
His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning:" The Ministry is focusing on urban planning projects that have reached five future cities: Sultan Haitham City, Thuraya City, Sohar Future City, Salalah Future City, and Nizwa Future City, covering a total area of 39 million square meters, and 22 projects for integrated neighborhoods and residential plans."
" The Ministry granted 20 licenses for real estate development projects during the period 2022-2024, with an investment value of OMR 500 million , including neighborhood projects and integrated residential plans."
His Excellency emphasised that the Ministry is working to develop integrated smart cities that meet the latest sustainability standards and enhance the governorates' capacity to accommodate population expansion in a modern manner that takes into account both environmental and social dimensions. More than 49,000 plots of land have been prepared and planned for various uses.
"The Ministry granted residential lands through an electronic system consistent with the principles of transparency and facilitating procedures. A total of 69,963 plots of land and housing units were distributed during the period from 2021 to 2024."
"The number of families benefiting from the social housing program during the period 2021-2024 is approximately 4,923 families. Additionally, 216 units have been allocated within the integrated residential neighborhood projects to support the housing assistance program, and approximately 1,000 units in Sultan Haitham City."
" The number of real estate transactions reached 375,132, including sales, mortgages, and exchanges, during the period from 2021 to 2024, with a value exceeding OMR 10 billion , " the Minister added.
