Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation today announced the projects qualifying for the Falling Walls Lab International Forum in Berlin, following the conclusion of the tenth edition of the Falling Walls Lab competition held at the Modern College of Business and Science.
A project titled "Cancer Treatment Using Bacteria" by Taif Obaid Al Qaydi secured first place. Second place was awarded to a project titled "Ilmify" by Baraa Yousuf Al Oufi, while a project titled "Quantum Mechanics in Carbon Nanotube Converters" by Al Haitham Mohammed Al Kalbani claimed third place.
The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Saif Abdullah Al Haddabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for Research and Innovation.
The competition aimed to highlight the competencies of Omani researchers and provide them with a platform to present their ideas and innovations. It also sought to connect emerging research talents with scientists and experts, identify and develop promising researchers, open avenues for international and interdisciplinary collaboration, and establish new channels for scientific communication and sustainable networking.
The event targeted students from colleges and universities, academics, entrepreneurs, employees of government and private entities, and job seekers among citizens and residents across various governorates.
