Oman's pavilion in Osaka hosts a fashion embodying Omani identity

Osaka: The Sultanate of Oman's pavilion at Expo 2025 in Kansai Osaka, Japan, hosted a fashion show that showcased the Omani identity and its rich cultural heritage. The show featured traditional designs reimagined with innovative, contemporary touches.

The designs vividly expressed the authenticity of Omani clothing as a cultural language that reflects the diversity of Oman's natural environments and its humanistic spirit.

Eight models presented 16 outfits inspired by Oman’s sea, mountains, and desert landscapes. The garments told stories of traditional crafts, local fabrics, and decorative patterns that have characterized Omani dress throughout history, presented in a modern style that highlighted the heritage's ability to renew itself and remain relevant on the global cultural stage.

The show was well-received by visitors, who appreciated the deep cultural dimension of the Omani outfits. The designs, which blend symbols of national identity and historical heritage with modern touches, added a renewed vitality that positions them to compete in international creative arenas.

This fashion show is part of a comprehensive cultural and artistic program organized by the Sultanate of Oman at its pavilion until the end of October. The program aims to present Oman’s identity in a way that draws inspiration from its ancient past to build its present. Through its diverse fashion and arts, Oman confirms that its culture is capable of building bridges of communication and dialogue with people from all over the world.
