Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, received a verbal message from President Karin Keller-Sutter of the Swiss Confederation.
This occurred when HH Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan received Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), who is currently on a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
During the meeting, HH Sayyid Asa’ad conveyed the greetings and sincere wishes of His Majesty the Sultan to the President of the Swiss Confederation, wishing her continuous success in achieving prosperity and security for the friendly Swiss people.
In turn, the guest asked HH Sayyid Asa’ad to convey greetings of the President of the Swiss Confederation to His Majesty the Sultan, wishing him success in leading the country to achieve further progress in various developmental, economic, and social sectors.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the friendly relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Swiss Confederation and emphasized the importance of joint action to develop them, especially in the economic, commercial, and investment fields, to benefit both countries’ peoples.
The meeting was attended on the Omani side by the Secretary-General and the Advisor at the Office of HH Sayyid Asa’ad.
On the Swiss side, attendees included Thomas Oertle, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Sultanate of Oman, Urs Andreas Wiedmer, Head of Communications at the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research; Myriam Gurtner, Senior Advisor to the Vice President of the Swiss Confederation; and Alois Aloys Basaplan, Alois Alwy Passable, Deputy Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Division for the Middle East and Africa.
