Orientation meeting focuses on partnerships with international organisations

Muscat: Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Sciences today organized an orientation meeting about its tasks and responsibilities, which deal with academic communication and the realization of major local and global goals.

Held at Majan University College, the meeting was chaired by Dr.Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. It was attended by heads of universities and colleges and higher education students.

The meeting reflected the efforts undertaken by Oman National Commission for Education,Culture and Sciences to enhance academic cooperation with relevant regional and international organizations like the UNESCO, the ISESCO and ALECSO.

It discussed measures through which higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman can leverage ties with the international organizations to develop strategic partnerships in the fields of research and innovation.

The meeting also explained the extent to which such partnerships can contribute to the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
