The Sultanate of Oman will participate in the 10th OIC Halal Expo, taking place in Istanbul from November 26 to 29, led by H.E. Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al-Farooji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion.
The participation aligns with Oman’s strategic direction to expand its footprint in the global halal economy and strengthen its presence across international halal value chains.
The 10th OIC Halal Expo is one of the largest global platforms dedicated to halal products and services. Hosted this year at the Istanbul Expo Center, it brings together government entities, leading companies, investors, and entrepreneurs representing more than 80 countries. The event aims to facilitate investment and trade networking, fast-track export growth, and encourage international cooperation in the halal economy.
Oman’s participation will highlight the country’s competitive investment environment and showcase promising opportunities in halal food industries, pharmaceuticals, food technology, and halal-linked logistics services.
The delegation’s agenda includes a series of business-to-business (B2B) meetings with international manufacturers and investors to explore potential partnerships and market expansion opportunities.
On the sidelines of the Expo, Invest Oman, representing the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, will host the “Advantage Oman – Turkiye Business Dialogue,” gathering senior business leaders and executives from more than 30 major Turkish companies. The session will focus on priority economic sectors and investment pillars to enhance bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
The forum will provide a platform for direct engagement between Omani and Turkish business communities, fostering dialogue and opening new avenues for collaboration. The Omani delegation will present a comprehensive overview of Oman’s competitive advantages, including its strategic geographic location, long-term economic stability, major ongoing development projects, and investor-friendly incentives.
Commenting on the participation, H.E. Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al-Farooji stated: “This participation reflects ongoing efforts to establish Oman as a key player in the global halal supply chain. The halal economy is witnessing accelerating growth worldwide, representing a strategic opportunity aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and the goal of diversifying the national economy.”
She added: “Oman and Turkiye enjoy strong and growing relations built on mutual interests and shared economic ambitions. In recent years, bilateral trade has expanded steadily, supported by existing agreements and cooperation frameworks that create new channels for investment and trade. The halal sector represents one of the most promising areas for collaboration, given the advanced regulatory standards and industrial capabilities in both countries.”
This participation marks another milestone in Oman’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position within the global halal economy, expand access to new export markets, and elevate the competitiveness of Omani products across international value chains. By fostering stronger partnerships and unlocking new economic pathways, Oman continues to position itself as a regional hub and an attractive destination for investment in the growing halal economy.
