Thunderstorms and rainfall across many governorates in Oman

Muscat: Thunderstorm activity is currently affecting parts of South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, and Al Wusta Governorates, with rainfall of varying intensities reported in these areas.

Meteorological forecasts indicate that the weather system is moving toward Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi, and South Al Batinah Governorates, and is expected to extend further in the coming hours to Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, and Muscat Governorates.

Authorities warn residents to exercise caution as heavy rainfall may lead to active flow in wadis and valleys, and advise avoiding travel in areas prone to flooding.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to follow official updates for safety instructions.

Rainfall is expected to continue intermittently, with some regions experiencing heavy showers accompanied by thunder and lightning.
