Muscat: The effects of the weather system known as Depression Al-Masarat continue to impact the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Al Wusta Governorate, and Dhofar Governorate, with moderate to heavy rainfall recorded on Saturday, leading to the flow of valleys and streams.
Hilal bin Salem Al Hajri, Head of the Forecasting and Early Warning System Department at the Civil Aviation Authority, stated that weather conditions have begun to gradually subside since this morning across several governorates, including Musandam Governorate, North Al Batinah Governorate, South Al Batinah Governorate, Al Dhahirah Governorate, Al Buraimi Governorate, Muscat Governorate, and Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
He added that the remaining effects are expected to persist in the southern and central regions before the weather system fully dissipates by Sunday morning.
He noted that monitoring stations recorded significant rainfall totals over the past 24 hours, with Al Kamil and Al Wafi receiving 70.6 millimetres, followed by Jaalan Bani Bu Ali with 62.6 millimetres, Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan with 60.6 millimetres, and Sadah with 50.6 millimetres.
Authorities continue to monitor conditions closely as the weather system gradually weakens, while advising the public to remain cautious, particularly in areas affected by flowing wadis and accumulated rainfall.
