ROP warns of fake insurance scams on Instagram

Muscat: The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations warned of a fraudulent scheme, where perpetrators use fake profiles on Instagram, impersonating insurance companies with the intent of obtaining money from individuals seeking to insure their property.

The Royal Oman Police has advised avoiding the disclosure of personal and banking information or making payments before verifying the credibility of such accounts belonging to organisations and companies.
