Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Information has renewed its call for individuals and entities engaged in media-related activities across digital platforms to obtain the necessary media licenses. This requirement is in accordance with the country's Media Law and its Executive Regulations.
In a public reminder, the ministry urged media practitioners, operators of news accounts, electronic channels, and others involved in licensable media activities to promptly complete the required licensing procedures. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to regulate the media sector, enhance professional standards, and ensure alignment with national laws.
The ministry emphasised that conducting any media activity without securing the legally mandated authorization constitutes a violation of the law. It warned that legal measures stipulated under the Media Law will be taken against violators. For those seeking clarification, dedicated contact channels have been made available through the Press and Media Licensing Department, the Media Activities Department, and the Artistic Works Licensing Department during official working hours.
