Paris – Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has reclaimed the world No. 2 spot in the latest ATP rankings released today.
Despite his absence from the courts due to injury, Alcaraz moved up to second place, capitalizing on German Alexander Zverev's drop to third following the deduction of points from last year's Canadian Open, resulting from a scheduling change in this year's edition of the tournament.
The top ten list also witnessed several notable shifts, with Russian Daniil Medvedev advancing to sixth place at the expense of Australian Alex de Minaur, who slipped to seventh.
Italian Flavio Cobolli climbed one position to achieve a career-high ranking of world No. 8, followed by American Taylor Fritz in ninth, who also moved up one spot.
Conversely, American Ben Shelton dropped two places, rounding out the top ten.
The most significant leap was made by Frenchman Arthur Gea, who surged 45 places to claim world No. 82, marking his entry into the top 100. The next biggest mover was Canadian Denis Shapovalov, who climbed 25 spots to reach world No. 43.
