Muscat: Active establishments covered by the social insurance system stood at 16,618 at the end of March, according to new official data.
The number of active insurers working in the private sector in Oman rose to 216,422 by the end of March, according to Statistics issued by the Public Authority of Social Insurance (PASI).
The total number of registered cases during the first three months of 2017 reached 14,977 and the average wage for the total active insurers stood at OMR665.
A majority of active insurers in the age group from 26 to 30 years, account for 23.7 per cent of the total active insurers, which indicates the success of the private sector in attracting national cadres in all its segments, as well as incentives that would provide a safe and attractive environment for various productive sectors, which in turn contribute to the growth of the national economy.
End of service indicators show that the number of severance cases, which include termination of service, resignation, transfer to another employer and termination due to death or disability and termination of service for other reasons reached 13,809 cases during the first three months of 2017.
The number of active insurers in the insurance protection system for to the GCC citizens reached 1,787 while the number of active insurers in the insurance system for Omanis working abroad and those of their equivalence reached 43.
