Drop in number of infiltrators in Oman

Muscat: Number of infiltrators has remarkably declined during the last two years in Oman ,Colonel Salah bin Mansour Al Wahibi, director of anti-Infiltration department at the directorate general of operation of the Royal Oman Police (ROP), said.

He added that during the first quarter of 2016, 858 infiltrators were arrested compared to 1039 infiltrators during 2015 and 4884 infiltrators during 2014.

Al Wahibi pointed out that the largest number of infiltrators was reported in the Governorate of Al Buraimi by 260 infiltrators, followed by the Governorate of South Al Batinah by 101 infiltrators, the Governorate of Muscat with 83 infiltrators, North Al Batinah with 79 infiltrators, Musandam by 54 infiltrators, Dhofar with 28, A'Dakhiliyah by 14 infiltrators, A'Dhahirah with 7 infiltrators, North A'Sharqiyah by 5 infiltrators and 1 infiltrator in each of South A'Sharqiyah and Al Wusta.
